Day 8: Back on track

My trip to the bike shop ended up taking all morning and a better part of the afternoon. The plus side is that my bike is now in tip top shape! The downside is that I lost just about half the day. I managed to ride up about 20 miles to get to a campsite along my route, but by the time I got here. There wasn't enough day left to make the remaining 50 miles to the next one. So I'm at campgrounds right now enjoying the remaining day before I head to bed.

Since this was the first bike shop I've been to since I left, I got a few things! I got some inner tubes finally!!! I also bought a set of aerobars which have been on my list of things to get at first chance. I also bought a new headlight and tail light.

This is my new handlebar setup! This is way more functional and aesthetically pleasing than my last setup...

I'm finally on the trace! It's a nice route; the roads are well paved and the hills aren't that bad so far. I got an opportunity to take a nice pic of my bike in front of the reservoir.

You may notice that this pic is the new blog cover photo (until I take one that's better at least!).

Not much happened today aside from hanging out at the bike shop. Maybe tomorrow after I get a full day of using the aerobars, I'll write a review about them.

P.S. The bike shop is called The Bike Crossing. For anyone in this area, I highly recommend them. They have great stock and were able to accomodate me with no notice which was great! They also have a full shop and are pretty knowledgable about repairs and maintenance!
